Affected by Advent

No two groups of people were more dissimilar than the Wisemen and the Shepherds. And still, they responded to Jesus' birth similarly. Outside of Old Testament prophecies, the only biblical accounts of Jesus's birth are found in Matthew 2 and Luke 2. The book of Matthew is primarily written for a predominantly Jewish audience and focuses on demonstrating that Jesus is King. As such, Matthew gives us the story of the Wisemen, the corrupt actions of Herod, and the flight to Egypt. Much like an investigative reporter, Luke tells us the account of the shepherds and the dedication of Jesus in the temple. How has Jesus affected you?
